Our course has been designed with you
in mind, with the person that has other responsibilities
to attend, but wants to start a change in lifestyle that
must be done, but gradually, allowing knowledge to be absorbed
and tested. The course is provided on a once per month -
three day weekend basis.
We start lessons on Friday at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

1ST WEEKEND
March 7 – 9, 2008
History, Cosmology, and Philosophy
In this class the student will be given a comprehensive
background of Ayurveda, its religion and relationship to
the Vedas, as well as the understanding of Ayurveda as a
mind-body medicine. It will also cover an overview of the
snkya philosophy. 2 Credits
The Gunas and the Elements
The student will learn the prime qualities of the gunas,
the elemental theory, the attributes of the elements, and
the five body governances. 3 Credits
The 3-Dosha Theory
A comprehensive understanding of Vata, Pitta, Kapha, their
effects, attributes, changing forces, activities, imbalances,
emotional states, diets, and sites. 3 Credits
2ND WEEKEND

Ayurvedic Herbology
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The importance of herbs in Ayurveda, their herbal constituents,
ways to use herbs, herbs as medicine, culinary herbs, and
the use of herbs for each constitutional body type. Over
150 herbs will be covered with their energetics, medicinal
uses, tastes, and post-digestive factors along with when
and how to use them. Herbal preparations and formulas will
be covered. 7 Credits
3RD WEEKEND
April 4 – 6, 2008
Factors of Living
In this course we will cover the climatic influence, seasons,
stages of life, daily Ayurvedic cycles of Vata, Pitta, and
Kapha, and how Dharma is connected to our constitutional
type. 2 Credits
Tools of Observation
The students will learn the basic Ayurvedic pulses, face,
eyes, speech, tongue, saliva, nail, and malas (stool, urine,
perspiration, sputum) for the purpose of re-establishing
harmony and balance. 3 Credits

The Use of Aromatherapy in Ayurveda
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The student will be given an understanding of aromatherapy,
its effects on the body, daily routine, Ayurvedic blending,
and various applications. 6 Credits

May 9 – 11, 2008
Sub-doshas
A full introduction of the five forms of Vata, Pitta and
Kapha, and each location, movement, force, and imbalance.
3 Credits
Vikriti and Prakriti
An understanding will be given of all imbalances, ama toxicity,
physical imbalances (lack of exercise, environmental factors,
diet, contagious diseases); emotional imbalances (relationships,
addictions); mental imbalances; spiritual imbalances; and
karmic imbalances. 3 Credits
6TH WEEKEND
May 23 – 25, 2008
How to do a Consultation
Covered in this course will be how to do a thorough consultation,
business ethics, and suggestions for building a successful
business practice. 1 Credit
Legal Guidelines for Unlicensed Practitioners
We are working, along with NAMA on getting the Ayurvedic
Practitioners Licensed, just like Massage Therapist and
Acupuncturist did at one time. In the meantime there are
several Legal Guidelines that must be covered. 1 Credit
7TH WEEKEND
June 6 – 8, 2008
The Subtle Forces
Tejas, Pranas, and Ojas will be covered in this course.
Their definitions, synergy, functions of subtle energies,
and a comprehensive overview of Agni will all be given.

Anatomy and Physiology
A comprehension understanding of Western Anatomy and Physiology;
Ayurvedic Dhatus; Strotas; the Tri-Dosha theory with its
functions and nutrition; definition of Strotas (excess flow,
deficient flow, obstructed flow); overview of the sixteen
Srotas; and a comparison of Western and Ayurvedic anatomy
and physiology. 7 Credits

Advanced Pulse Evaluation
Covered in this course will be advanced pulse readings,
pathology, how to support the body Ayurvedically in a modern
world, over 150 illnesses, as well as the prevention of
disease. 2 Credits

The Philosophy of the 6 tastes
This class will cover the six tastes in Ayurveda, their
elemental attributes, proportions needed for different body
types, over consumption of tastes, and Vipaka. 3 Credits
Food and Diet
In this course we will cover appropriate foods for each
constitutional type, the role that fruits, vegetables, seaweeds,
beans, grains, oils, dairy, fish, meat, condiments, spices,
and beverages play in Ayurveda. The student will learn how
Western society uses vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals
as well as the Ayurvedic use of vitamins, minerals, trace
minerals, and metallic substances. 6 Credits
10TH WEEKEND

Yoga & Ancient Healing
Learn about the different modalities of Yoga that exist.
This sister science of Ayurveda encompasses Meditation within
it and aids Ayurveda in the treatment of disease, understand
why it is so important.
